Lake Norman United Lacrosse (LNU)

Dedicated to promoting youth lacrosse in the Lake Norman area from K-1st grade instructional lacrosse, through U-15.  Boys and girls youth teams designed for all levels – from new beginner players, to  up and coming mid-level players, through highly competitive skilled players.

Lake Norman United Instructional Lacrosse

Our Instructional or U7 team is designed for K-1st grade boys and girls and is intended as an introduction to the sport of lacrosse.  The only equipment required is a lacrosse stick (boys and girls sticks are different) and a mouthpiece because we will have no contact at this level. Our goal is to teach the fundamentals of catching, throwing, and picking up ground balls and to provide some of the basic rules of the game.

New players continue to join lacrosse at all age, but U-11 is when natural development and newly learned skills begin to start showing.

Our U-11 through U-15 teams begin to compete in some very competitive tournaments in the South East.  Players are selected through a try-out process.

All three LNU Select teams performed extremely well in the 2009 tournaments.

Lake Norman United Lacrosse:  Boys U-13

With the multi-level team structure, new players still fit in perfectly, while the more advanced players can now begin to get into some more serious competition.  Ball handling skills and team skills begin to show at a much higher level.

Lake Norman United Lacrosse:  Boys U-15

The competition continues to move up at the U-15 level.  To this point, LNU has worked hard to build players through the younger levels.  LNU has proven to be a very successful program and is continuing to become a power-house in the region.

From here, LNU will prepare players to face the higher challenges at the High School level.

Lake Norman United Lacrosse:  Girls Teams

Just as lacrosse has grown in our area with boys, the girls programs are also being developed in our region as it is at LNU.

The goal of LNU is to also grow the girls program to the same power-house level the boys program has grown to.
